Prof. Robert Shorten

Professor Robert Shorten is Head of Department and Professor of Cyber-Physical Systems at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. Prior to joining Imperial, Professor Shorten was Professor of Decision Science and Control Theory at University College Dublin, and before that worked at IBM Research, where he led the Control and Optimization Team at the Smart City Research lab. His research interests include stability theory, congestion control, smart cities and smart mobility, the design of cyber-physical systems, and the design of sharing and circular economy systems.
