Prof. Joachim Taiber

Prof. Dr. Joachim G. Taiber is a distinguished expert in automotive engineering, serving as an Adjunct Professor at Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). He earned his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). Prof. Taiber began his career at a Swiss start-up specializing in CAD/CAM/PDM systems before joining BMW Group in 1997. At BMW, he held various leadership roles, focusing on functional integration, vehicle systems, and IT innovation. In 2010, he transitioned to academia at Clemson University, coordinating research in clean transportation and advanced vehicle communication. Prof. Taiber also serves as the Chief Technology Officer of the International Transportation Innovation Center (ITIC) and is the founder of the International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS), contributing significantly to the advancement of connected and automated mobility systems.
